Failed posts and retries

Each platform of a post has its own status. When one fails, the rest still go out, and Retry sends only the failed one.

Statuses

Each platform of a post has its own status:

  • Scheduled: waiting for its time.
  • Publishing: on its way to the platform.
  • Published: live on the platform.
  • Failed: it didn’t go out. The reason is on the post.
  • Deleted: removed on the platform after it was published.

A post can be published on one platform and fail on another. For example, if Instagram succeeds and Facebook fails, the post is live on Instagram and Retry sends it only to Facebook.

Who hears about it

If a scheduled post fails, everyone on the team gets an email with the reason and a link to the post. Publish now and Retry don’t send email: you see the outcome in the app. See Email notifications.

Retrying

  • Open the post on the Posts page and click Retry next to the platform that failed.
  • Each platform of a post can be retried up to 3 times an hour, a minute apart. A team can retry up to 20 times an hour.
  • If a retry doesn’t start within about 10 minutes, it fails again and you can retry it.
  • A retry never posts twice. When the platform may already have the post, REVERB doesn’t offer Retry and asks you to check the platform first.
  • A failed platform keeps the post’s files for 30 days after its last try. Once they’re deleted, Retry can’t send the post any more.
