REVERBvsposting in each app

Which fits a small team posting to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube?

An honest side-by-side. We make REVERB, so read it knowing that – and where the apps themselves are the better choice, we say so.

The short version

Choose REVERB if

  • You post the same photos or video to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
  • You plan posts ahead, on one calendar the whole team shares.
  • You tag the same people a lot, and they have different handles on each platform.
  • You run more than one brand, each with its own team and accounts.

Choose posting in each app if

  • You post to one platform, or each platform gets different content.
  • You need the apps’ own creative tools – music, stickers, effects, live video.
  • You want to edit or delete posts from the same place after they go out.
  • You’d rather not add another tool.

Posting the same thing everywhere

The core job: one piece of content, four platforms, each in its own format.

REVERB

One editor. Add photos or a video once; REVERB posts it as a reel, carousel, TikTok or Short, checks it against each platform’s limits while you edit, and shows the exact caption each account will get. Then publish to all of them at once, or put the post on the calendar.

Posting in each app

Four uploads, four captions, and picking the cover and tagging people four times. You get each app’s full set of tools on the way and can tailor every post by hand, which is time spent when the content is the same.

TikTok and YouTube posts are private for now. Until those platforms approve REVERB, TikTok posts go out as “Only me” and YouTube uploads are private; you can make an upload public in YouTube Studio. Instagram and Facebook posts go out public.

Tagging people

Same person, four different handles.

REVERB

Map a keyword once per team. Type @alex and each platform gets that person’s handle there; anything not mapped stays exactly as typed. Mapped people can be invited as collaborators on Instagram posts and Facebook reels.

Posting in each app

You type each handle in each app, and look up the ones you don’t remember. Collaborator invites work the same way, one app at a time.

Planning the week

Knowing what goes out when, across everything.

REVERB

One calendar for the team, in the team’s timezone, with every platform on it – including posts made directly in the apps, read-only. Drag a post to move it. Suggested times come from how your own posts did, per platform.

Posting in each app

Each app has its own drafts and, in some, its own scheduler. Seeing the whole week means opening each of them.

When something goes wrong

Access expires, uploads fail. What matters is that you find out, and that fixing it doesn’t post twice.

REVERB

Each platform has its own status. If TikTok fails and the rest go out, you see exactly that, everyone on the team gets an email, and a retry goes to TikTok only. Connections are checked daily, so access that’s about to run out shows up before a post misses.

Posting in each app

You’re there when you post, so you see a failure right away and try again. A post scheduled in an app that fails later is reported by that app, in its own way.

What it costs
